![]() When I ask commissioners to fill out the commission form, there is a specific section where they can tell me their requested deadline and there's a 100% chance of me finishing by that deadline if stated, otherwise I simply do commissions as I wish. While I suppose it is irresponsible of me to postpone commissions just because I no longer have time for them, I personally think that the most professional decision if mine was to make refund an option, that being said I've never had to give a refund before, most of my commissioners understand that I'm usually always busy with real life and tell me to take my time. Speaking as an artist who recently had to delay commissions due to a new job and offered refunds to commissioners, my opinion is probably highly biased, but hear me out. You can no longer comment on this thread as it was closed due to no I've read these later, back to drawing commissions myself. Feel free to agree or disagree with any comments or my own option. No debating or fighting, just sharing of options. IDK, I can see asking commissioners to wait a longer time, but either way, just wanted to hear others options. Or some other reason that would keep them from having much time to draw, like going to medical school. I personal think an artist should complete the commissions unless it's a really important reason, like they broke their hand/arm, and can't draw for quiet a bit. I wonder because I've seen a lot of artists post journals about refunding commissions and/or asking the commissioner to wait a longer time for one reason or another. Whatever the reason, what do you think about artists paying the commissioner back for not completing the artwork promised. Or even that they just don't feel like drawing for other people anymore. Or maybe they just can't seem to draw what you want right. For any reason really, like they got a new job so they no longer have much free time and would like to draw for themselves in that time. ![]()
